Food Safety Knowledge, Beliefs and Behaviour among Health Sciences-related Field Undergraduate Students at a Local University

Foodborne disease is among the primary illness that causes morbidity and mortality in world. Several studies show most students do not have adequate food safety knowledge to protect themselves against foodborne diseases. This study aimed determine knowledge, behaviour, beliefs undergraduate at a local university Malaysia. cross-sectional involves 121 respondents from three health science-related faculties studied institution. The questionnaire was distributed via an online platform. used multiple-choiceformat questions for Food Safety Knowledge Likert type scale Behaviour Belief question statements. Most of were female (78%). About 16% experience working / volunteering services, half them are involved handling during their services. recorded moderate score all sections (knowledge, beliefs) with total percentage 60.3%, 66.1%, respectively. A strong but significant correlation between (r = 0.69 p > 0.05) behaviour 0.83 observed. useful as basis develop targeted education program students. Students high will increase thus preventing getting any illness.
